Welcome to IF Castor - the oldest and biggest figure skating club in the county of Jämtland, established in 1918. The club is based at Östersund Arena.

We offer several skating classes for beginners (younger and older), figure skating classes at many different levels and a sports group. 

Each semester ends with a big show on ice.

We are very proud to have a professional, full-time employed head coach, Janusz Karweta. He is a six-time Polish National Champion with plenty of international experience. By his side are a number of assisting coaches.

Joy - The driving force in everything we do

We focus on the joy we find in the sport and in the joy of excercising. We support each other and we are happy for each other. It should be fun to come to practice and everyone should feel welcome regardless of their possibilities and level of ambition.

Enthusiasm - The desire to train, learn, socialize and develop

We encourage each other to dare to leave our safety zones and challenge each other in a positive manner. Everyone should have the opportunity to feel fulfilled and experience the feeling of success.

Community - In your own group and in the club as a whole

We work together towards joint goals. Everyone should feel part of the community - skaters, coaches and parents - greeting each other and including everyone in such a way that everyone feels welcome and part of the community. We are all role models for each other.

Everyone must be treated equally and given the same possibilities to participate and develop. Regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, beliefs, physical and mental conditions, goals with the training, etc.

Everyone must be accepted and respected. Everyone's voices are equally valuable and we strive for everyone to always dare to express their opinion.

Everyone - skaters, coaches, board, officials and parents - must follow the association's values, goals and action plan.

The core values must be a part of everything we do. We attach great importance to this and work with this and update our work in this field regularly at meetings and in other situations when we are together.
